German Slate Mine

In the Eifel Museum, under the Genovevaburg, you can immerse yourself in the history of the castle, the Eifel and the town of Mayen in around an hour and a half and reminisce about times gone by. Under the castle, the German Slate Mine also awaits visitors who want to discover the “world of slate” with a jacket and helmet – like real miners.
